Pushkar Festival
Come November and all roads from all over the Rajasthan lead to Pushkar,
Which is called the Gem Of Rajasthan. Every November, the famous Pushkar
fair is held for 7 days, finishing on the Kartik Purnima (Full Moon).
The mystique of Pushkar has endured over the centuries and thousands of
men, women and cattle Flock on the shores of Lake Pushkar. It is a
sprawling, vital fiesta timed for Kartik Purnima, the period Of the
autumn full moon. The Pushkar Mela is at once an occasion for worship
and trade, even match making. Devotees come to bathe in the holy lake
where Lord Brahma, the Hindu creator, is said to have performed a holy
sacrifice Called the Yagna. The lake is said to have appeared at the
spot where a lotus fell from Brahma's hand. As the bathers have to spend
five full days there, a good deal of trading is done on the side. This
festival is great attraction for animal trade as well as for pilgrimage.
It is essentially a camel fair, traders also bring other cattle. Animals
are put on show and display their skills before their sale, this is the
largest festival of camel fair in world. There are exciting camel-cart
races and cultural events.

Nov. 1st 2007: Delhi :
Arrive Delhi by international flight- Meeting and assistance on arrival

Drive to Jaipur visiting enroute Fatehpur Sikri.On arrival, check-in at the hotel.
Nov. 4th 2007: Jaipur :
Morning visit Amer Fort and elephant ride to ascend the fort.Afternoon city sightseeing tour.
Nov. 5th 2007: Jaipur-Pushkar : (144 km/3 hours)
Drive to Pushkar and on arrival, check-in at the Deluxe Tent Rest of the
day explore Pushkar Fair.
Nov. 6th 2007: Pushkar :
Day at Pushkar to witness festival and cultural activities.
Nov. 7th 2007: Pushkar :
Spend another day witnessing the festivities at this fair.
Nov. 8th 2007: Pushkar-Jaipur-Delhi :
Transfer to Jaipur airport to board flight to Delhi.On arrival, transfer to international airport for onward flight.
